Tyra Steverson, LCPC

I’m Tyra Steverson, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, in Illinois and Texas (LPC) speaker, and coach committed to creating sacred spaces where Black women can heal, grow, and flourish. My work is rooted in intersectionality, Black feminism, and multicultural counseling — because I believe healing must honor the fullness of who we are and the systems we navigate.

For years, I’ve helped women process racial trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational wounds while guiding them to release shame, embrace vulnerability, and pursue lives aligned with their values. My approach blends psychodynamic therapy, CBT, narrative therapy, and feminist psychology to create spaces that are both deeply reflective and powerfully practical. I am known for being both compassionate and direct — holding space for my clients’ deepest pain while also challenging them to envision new possibilities for themselves.

Through my private practice, 290 Therapy, I have supported countless women in moving from survival mode into thriving, equipping them with the tools to reclaim joy, clarity, and confidence. Clients consistently describe our work together as life-changing — not because I give them answers, but because I help them access the wisdom, strength, and resilience that already lives within them.

I founded Selah Studios as an extension of this vision — a sanctuary for the sacred exhale. Here, through group wellness coaching and healing intensives, I design transformative experiences that allow Black women to pause, release what no longer serves them, and step through portals to wholeness. My mission is simple but profound: to help women remember who they are, reclaim their power, and reimagine what’s possible for their lives.
